The popular image of the Crusades is of Christian warriors terrorizing and subjugating non-Christians. In the eyes of many radical Muslims and their Western allies, these Crusades are still going on in the new form of American “imperialism.” Muslim Persecution of Christians documents the falsification of history that justifies this view. It also describe the real “crusade” now taking place – the religious cleansing of Christians in Muslim lands. This persecution has dramatically increased worldwide in the last decade and is now worse than ever. From Egypt to Nigeria, from Iraq to Pakistan, Christians in majority-Muslim countries face a grimmer present and a more uncertain future than ever, as Islamic Jihadists step up their efforts of Islamize them or drive them out of their lands – or kill them outright.

I am a big fan of Robert Spencer's books, videos and lectures, and own a half dozen of his books going back to the 2000s. This is a good book on an important topic of the ongoing persecution of Christians throughout the Muslim world and the Western Democracies' indifference.

I knocked it one star only because I didn't find anything much in it that I did not already know from reading reports online, and specifically articles linked to and commented on by Robert at JihadWatch, as well as sites like religionofpeace.com, MEMRI et al.

I would still recommend the book especially for anyone who has not been aware of this persecution that has been ongoing since the rise of Islam, and increasing and decreasing in intensity depending predominantly on the power relationship between Islam and the Western Democracies. I.e. when Islam was at its nadir and Western Democracies had greater influence and power over Islamic countries, persecution was also at its nadir (although still in existence in Islamic countries) as was other forms of Islamic violence. On the other hand, when non-Islamic power has been at its nadir and Islam at its apex (e.g. following the rise in power of OPEC due to the West's increasing demand and dependancy on fossil fuels and OPEC's manipulation of petroleum resources in the 1970s) persecution of Christians in Muslim countries radically increases, accompanied with upswing in military conflicts and jihad violence.

Muslim Persecution of Christians edition by Robert Spencer Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

This book is handy for the basics on Islamic thought and policy. Good for a basic understanding of Islam. Suggestions for deeper study the truth about Muhammad, The policitally incorrect guide to Islam (and the Crusades), The Religion of Peace? and The complete infidel's guide to the Koran all by R. Spencer
we all need to know more about muslums and who they are
Well written and enlightening. The fact that the sad and terrifying contents of this book will likely take the average reader by surprise serves to prove the authors point that the western world has largely been ignoring extreme human rights abuses against middle eastern Christians for years.
We're seeing today in the Middle East what this book predicted and talks about. If all that scares you, read this book and confirm it.
Excellent as usual for Robert's writings, he is always right on with his understanding of Islam and the Middle East.
One book I wish was material for ordination. Most theologians and Christian workers should read and learn this material. Excellent work.
What a good view of what is not only happening in the Middle East and the West. Persecution is the norm for Christians. But we need to know what is happening to our Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Every Christian should read this.
