This book leaves one feeling one of two ways.
Either realizing what you want in love and don't have, or realizing that what you have in love is golden.
There is a very large difference of having an infatuation or crush on someone you might know other than appreciating what you really have in Life.
Most people want just to love and be loved.
We sometime settle for second or third best for a number of reasons, psyching ourselves that a person Loves us even though their actions speak another way.
We become so desperate in love that we don't want to lose what little love is there.
It takes more than one person to keep a relationship going. Ask me,I know.
The hard way.
I was in love with a person so much, I became unaware that it had become one sided. Love is actually blind.
When I realized that, restored my self esteem again, and ended a tortured twenty six year relationship with a woman, was I free again to look for that perfect one, a man.
Who I thought was my soul mate really wasn't.
After I allowed myself to heal, I found out that I could actually be Loved.
For myself. As I was, full of imperfections. And I could Love back the same way. Being so comfortable with a person that you can fart in their presence and giggle about it after. Together.
As you can see, this book has a very serious effect on me.
It talks about love and the difference with being infatuated with a person than being in love.
Sex with another man is good, but sex with someone that you LOVE and loves you back is precious.
I noticed a lot of people underlined a lot of sentences.
This book made me think and appreciate what I have and to cherish it .
And to remember what I had and didn't have.
Or what I want in love.
Jay Bell made me look at myself and and my while love life, from marriage with a woman, to a real LOVE with a man.
Be prepared to examine yourself and your lovers when you read this book...sometimes we find love after we stop looking for it so hard.
And sometimes we don't.
Love might be staring at us right in the face, we might be looking in the wrong direction.
And kissing the man we love is sublime.
I gave it five stars.

Like and Subscribe is a sweet short story which tells us about Evan’s crush on Tony Taylor. He follows Tony’s videos on YouTube, and his infatuation which the sexy man is increased by the fact that he knows the guy… If going to High School together can count as knowing someone. Anyhow, Tony embodies everything Evan looks for in his Prince Charming He is sexy, sweet, caring, generous, loyal, and a faithful lover. But when he gets the chance of meeting Tony, and is even blatantly offered a one night stand, Evan realises that Tony is not what he seems to be. Anyway, his disappointment may lead to the beginning of a true love story.
A very fast read, it is cute and entertaining. The story is short, but Jay Bell manages to convey a huge amount of emotions, infatuation embarrassment, disenchantment, pain and hope. The characters are likeable, even the secondary ones like Evan’s best friend, Julie. There is humour, romance and a little bit of anguish
I think one of the things I liked the best about this novella is none of the characters are perfect-- and none of them are excessively critical of themselves either-- they are real people. You have Evan's infatuation (almost complete obsession) with Tony-- but in the end, Evan has enough self-worth to not cross the line of his beliefs for a temporary fix. Orlando demonstrates that first impressions aren't always what they seem on the surface. Of course with Tony-- beauty may only be skin deep but there is still a beating heart under that narcissistic brawn. Sweet story.
"...I was in the dark. I was falling hard, with an open heart...I’m wide awake and now it’s clear to me, that everything you see, ain’t always what it seems..." ~ Katy Perry

Evan, from 'Like and Subscribe' by Jay Bell, is totally enamored with a guy on the internet. To add a note of credibility, he knows Tony is a real person because they went to high school together, although they weren't friends. All he sees on YouTube is this gorgeous guy with a kick-ass body, charming personality, and what appears to be exceptional sensitivity.

When he runs into Tony at a party, he can't believe his luck, but after spending some time with Tony, he begins to question how much of Tony's persona is genuine. Evan tries to give him the benefit of the doubt; but finds it increasingly difficult not to be disillusioned with him. One of Evan's major concerns his obviously one-sided open relationship with his boyfriend, Orlando. He sees the pain in Orlando's eyes and it takes all the excitement out of being with Tony but it's painful to give up on a dream. Evan and Orlando both see Tony's potential, but are sadly forced to admit he is never going to live up to it. He's never going to be the man that Evan or Orlando need to be happy.

This is an endearing love story which, although it may be short in length, is certainly not short on insight and significance. Jay packs in a lot of meaning and purpose in his prose while presenting the issue of needing to see clearly during the time at which it's especially difficult to do so, with matters of the heart. I recommend this tasty morsel of wisdom and entertainment to everyone who believes that true love will find a way. Thanks, Jay, for sharing your gift with the world.
